Welcome to Snapshot 4 Learning.
My original Snapshot Learning contains thousands of great resources but has "outgrown" itself. Hence Snapshot 4 Learning, which is hyperlinked to Snapshot 1, now exists. |
Y7 - 9 Tasks @ QLD Ed.
Students edit a comic book story in which a couple driving home are trapped by a bushfire. They look closely at the narrative and make it more exciting and complete, choose an ending and improve the story by changing nouns to pronouns, adding adverbs and choosing more descriptive verbs. Plus write a concluding sentence that completes the story.

This unit of work explores point of view in narrative. Students explore two meanings of the term 'point of view': personal point of view and narrative point of view. They learn about first-person and third-person omniscient point of view in narrative, and differentiate between 'narrator' and 'author'. Students then bring together point of view in its various meanings in their own writing.

In this unit of work, students explore the fantasy genre by examining a series of titles by Anna and Barbara Fienberg. They dramatise the thoughts and feelings of the characters through simple drama activities and develop their narrative writing skills through a focus on descriptive and figurative language. The unit is suitable for a variety of ages from years 2 to 6, although responses will vary in sophistication.
